What motivated you to enroll in the Graduate Certificate in Higher Education Leadership?
I wanted a more in-depth understanding of the policies that affect the different areas of higher education.
What’s one lesson or insight from the program that’s stayed with you?
Networking with my colleagues from other SC tech colleges proved to be invaluable. We really formed a bond and became each other’s support system throughout the duration of the program – and after.
Who was your biggest supporter during the program (personally or professionally), and how did they support you?
My son was my biggest supporter. We have a special handshake, and when he saw me working hard on an assignment, he would come to me and initiate our special handshake and say, "You got this, mom!"
What accomplishment or moment were you most proud of during or since completing the program?
After the CCLA program, I decided to continue my education and pursue a doctorate degree at the University of South Carolina. This program showed me that I have what it takes to do that.
What’s your go-to source of inspiration – a book, quote, mentor, or song that keeps you motivated?
I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me!
